Professional Profiles:

Education:

I obtained my B.Sc. in Chemistry in 1995 from the Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Science, Osaka University, Japan. Subsequently, I pursued my M.Sc. in Inorganic and Physical Chemistry, graduating in 1997 from the Department of Chemistry, Graduate School of Science, Osaka University, Japan. Continuing my academic journey, I completed my Ph.D. in Chemistry in 2000, also at Osaka University, with a thesis titled “Studies on structures and electronic states of copper(II) complexes with imidate ligands.” During my doctoral research, I was under the supervision of Prof. Yoshihiko Kushi and Prof. Seiko Komorita. My research involved the preparation of metal complexes, X-ray crystallography, (polarized) electronic spectroscopy, and theoretical calculations using the AOM method.

Academic Carrier :

From 2000 to 2002, I served as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Institute for Protein Research, Osaka University, Japan, under the guidance of Prof. Tomitake Tsukihara. During this time, my focus was on the structural biology and bioinorganic chemistry of metalloproteins, with a specific emphasis on conducting X-ray crystallography studies of cytochrome c oxidase.

Following my postdoctoral position, I worked as a Research Associate at the Department of Chemistry, Keio University, Japan, from 2002 to 2007, under the supervision of Prof. Yasuaki Einaga. Here, my research centered on photo-magnetic metal complexes and their applications in nano-scaled functional materials. I specifically investigated Prussian blue analogues and other metal complexes during this period. Additionally, I briefly held the position of Assistant Professor at Keio University from 2007 to 2008.

In 2007, I expanded my research experience by taking on the role of Visiting Scholar at the Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Humanities and Sciences, Stanford University, USA, under the mentorship of Prof. Edward I. Solomon. During this time, I focused on bioinorganic spectroscopy of multicopper oxidase
