Dr. [Name] has a Doctorate (PhD) in physics (Nuclear Sciences) from Houari Boumediene University of Science and Technology-Algiers, obtained in 2010. Their thesis, titled “Metrology of ionizing radiations using an extrapolation chamber,” was conducted at the Secondary Standard Dosimetry Laboratory of Algeria. They developed a methodology for the absolute calibration of high energy photon beams used in radiotherapy using a PMMA embedded extrapolation chamber, achieving an overall uncertainty of 1.2% at a 95% confidence level. Additionally, they hold a Master of Science in Nuclear Engineering (Radiation Protection) from the Radiation Protection and Safety Centre-Algiers, obtained in 1990. Dr. [Name] has held several significant roles in the field of physics and radiation protection. Since August 2015, they have served as the Senior Health Physicist and Head of the King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre’s Secondary Standard Dosimetry Laboratory. Prior to this, from 2008 to August 2015, they were the Director of the Radiological Physics Division and Manager of the Secondary Standard Dosimetry Laboratory at the Atomic Energy Commission / Nuclear Research Centre of Algiers. In addition, from 2006 to 2007, they held the position of Head of the Medical Physics Department at the Atomic Energy Commission / Nuclear Research Centre of Algiers. Dr. [Name] also has a long history with the Algerian Secondary Standard Dosimetry Laboratory, where they served as the Head from 1999 to 2015 and as the Quality Manager. They were a Senior Physicist at the SSDL at the High Commission to Research / Radiation Protection and Safety Centre from 1996 to 1999 and a Research Assistant at the same institution from 1991 to 1996. Major Accomplishments:

Dr. [Name] has been involved in a wide range of activities related to the design, commissioning, and quality assurance of radiation facilities and dosimetry laboratories. They have designed Secondary Standard Dosimetry Laboratories (SSDLs) for numerous African, Arabic, and Asian countries, including bunker design, shielding calculations, layout drawings, and the selection of irradiation facilities and dosimetry equipment, with this work ongoing until 2021. Dr. [Name] has also designed experimental setups and ancillary equipment for the Algerian and Saudi Arabian SSDLs since 1992. Additionally, they have performed shielding calculations for five Radiotherapy Centers in Algeria from 2008 to 2014, six worldwide SSDLs from 2007 to 2021, and Nuclear Medicine Departments from 2019 to 2022. They commissioned the first two linear accelerators installed at the Algerian Radiotherapy Centers (VARIAN – CLINAC 1800) in 1993 and conducted quality control of Cobalt-60 units and linear accelerators at the national level in Algeria from 1993 to 2000. In 2006, Dr. [Name] established an External Audit Group (EAG) responsible for conducting the audit of radiotherapy beams in Algeria using thermoluminescent dosimeters. They also participated in the design and implementation of the medical physics post-graduate program at Algerian universities in 2004. Dr. [Name] established and implemented the ISO 17025 Quality Management System for the Algerian SSDL in 2005 and the Saudi SSDL in 2017. Dr. [Name] organized the intercomparison on measurements of the personal dose equivalent Hp(10) in photon fields for AFRA member states in the Africa region under technical cooperation project RAF 9/0/43 and two regional intercomparisons for radiation protection calibration and Hp(10) measurement for Personal Monitoring dosimetry for ARASIA member states under RAS 6084 in 2017. They also conducted the GULFMET Key and Supplementary comparisons for radiation protection and diagnostic radiology calibrations for eight SSDLs in the Middle East and Europe as a pilot lab. Dr. [Name] established calibration capabilities for radiation protection, diagnostic radiology, and radiotherapy for the Algerian SSDL from 2001 to 2017 and the Saudi SSDL from 2014 to 2016.
