António M. B. Pereira, PhD, is a distinguished Mechanical Engineering Professor based in Aveiro, Portugal. With a rich background in academia and industry, Dr. Pereira has made significant contributions to both fields throughout his career. As a founding shareholder and former Director of the Martifer Group, he played a pivotal role in the planning and production of numerous steel structures and industrial equipment, totaling over 100 million euros. Transitioning to academia in 2000, he has since held various leadership positions at the University of Aveiro (UA), including Director of the Mechanical Testing Laboratory and Director of the Centre for Mechanical Technology and Automation.
