Phạm Ngọc Lân, born on April 7, 1949, is an esteemed academic and researcher in the field of chemistry, currently serving as the Chief of the Department of Material Chemistry at the University of Science, Hanoi. He holds the academic title of Associate Professor and Doctor of Chemistry, reflecting his significant contributions to his field. Dr. Lân embarked on his academic journey at Kishinev National University in the former Soviet Union, where he earned his Bachelor’s degree in Organic Chemistry in 1973. He furthered his studies at the Academy of Sciences in the former East Germany, obtaining his Doctorate in Polymer Chemistry in 1985.

Dr. Lân began his professional career at the Vietnamese Academy of Science and Technology (VAST) in 1973, where he worked as a researcher. He steadily progressed within the institution, becoming Deputy Head of the Research Department by 1985. His dedication to research and his field took him to the National University of GENT in Belgium from 1991 to 1998, where he served as a postdoctoral visiting researcher. Following his tenure in Belgium, Dr. Lân returned to Vietnam and joined the Hanoi University of Technology, serving as Head of the Research Department until 2007.
