Dr. Moera Gutu, Adama Science and Technology University, Ethiopia

Dr. Moera Guta is an Associate Professor in Mechanical Design and Manufacturing Engineering at the School of Mechanical, Chemical, and Material Engineering. He holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering with a specialization in Laser Beam Surface Modification of Aluminum for Wear and Corrosion Protection, which he obtained in 2018 from the Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati (IITG). Dr. Guta also has an MSc in Manufacturing Engineering, earned in 2010 from Adama Science and Technology University (ASTU), and a BEd in Manufacturing Technology from the same institution, completed in 2006.

Dr. Guta’s research interests are diverse and include composite materials, laser beam surface engineering, coating technologies, machining of hard materials, precision engineering, wear and friction systems, and lubrication. Throughout his academic career, he has made significant contributions to these fields, publishing 42 international research articles and advising over 32 MSc students and 5 Ph.D. scholars, with 2 Ph.D. students having already graduated under his guidance.
